During the process of laser etching, the cover layer of your product is removed. This removed layer is very tiny, producing a very small depth, but the end result gives a contrast mark that can be easily seen.
Laser etching works well on materials with more than one layer of material like, coated metals, anodized aluminum, plastics and even acrylics.

Some othe additional things we can do with etching is placing designs in mirror. We can also take this mirror and paint the etched area to give it an accent color. Some examples of this would be like a mirror behind a bar or even a welcome sign.
